Lord Jesus Christ, take us along that holy way you once took to your death.

Take our minds and our hearts, and let us see what once you did for love of me

and all the world.

Psalm 51:10-12

1. ¯  Change My Heart, O God – E. Espinosa/Hayes

Isaiah 40:28-31

Psalm 46:10

2. ¯ Come Unto Me and Wait – M. Hayes

1 John 4:9-11

3. ¯ O Love that Wilt not Let Me Go – A. Peace/Maddux

Psalm 71:1-5

4. ¯ I Need Thee Ev’ry Hour – Lowry/Hayes

Psalm 25:1-5

Jesus has experienced profound solidarity with so many on this earth by being beaten and tortured.
He was wrongfully condemned and punished by death.
He has said "yes" to God and placed his life in God's hands.
We follow him in this final surrender, as he is broken and given for us.

5. ¯ When I Survey the Wondrous Cross – I. Watts/Shackley

Jesus is made to carry the cross on which he will die.
He walks in the path of human misery and suffering, and experiences its crushing weight.

John 19:17

6. ¯ Kyrie EleisonD. Mengel

Jesus' journey is at times brutal.
He has entered into the terrible experiences of rejection and injustice.
He has been whipped and beaten.
His face shows the signs of his solidarity with all who have ever suffered injustice and vile, abusive treatment.

Isaiah 52:14

7. ¯  How Beautiful – T. Paris

Jesus' path takes him to a powerful source of his strength.
When Jesus and His mother look into each other's eyes we can imagine how pierced her heart must be and how pained he must be to see her tears!
She knows the sorrow in the heart of every mother who has lost a child to tragedy or violence.

John 16:22

8. ¯ Ave Maria – G. Caccini/Liebergen

They Crucified Him on a cross that was made using the hammer and nails from His trade.
And the people cried out “Son of the carpenter, set Yourself free! If you are the Savior, come down from the tree."

By your pierced hands and feet, Lord, help those fixed to a cross by long illness or misfortune.
Remember how weak we are, O Lord.  Remember our helplessness, remember our human frailty, and come to our assistance.
We will never feel alone in our suffering.

Luke 23:34

9. ¯ The Carpenter’s Son – C. Courtney

John 15:13

Dear Jesus, teach us how to give up ourselves for the sake of the others.
Let us be a source of light for those who are burdened by a senseless dark life.
May we find you in the stranger and in the needy we meet.

10. ¯ What Wondrous Love Is This – M. Hayes

Psalm 86:1-7

Galatians 6:2

11. ¯ Agnus Dei – G. Bizet
